This is a 7,000 SF Net Zero Energy/Zero Carbon Emission corporate office building. Hillhouse served as the design-assist general contractor and designed it to LEED Gold standards. The construction included the complete site, exterior and interior renovation and involved a roof-integrated photovoltaic system to meet 100% of the site's electrical needs. We installed a ground source heat pump to provide radiant heating and cooling with natural “fresh air” ventilation, eliminating need for natural gas and reducing power consumption by 40%.

Building renovation included new window openings using high-performance glazing systems and increase insulation. Skylights were added to the roof to reduce the need for electric lighting by 60%. We also installed a highly efficient plumbing system including waterless and dual-flush devices with electronic controls which reduced potable water consumption by 40%. We used natural bio swells to filter stormwater and reduce runoff. Additionally, we installed drought-tolerant plants and specialized irrigation controls to minimize water use by 75%.
