Hillhouse is proud to have recently sponsored Adobe’s Debbi Caminiti in getting over her fear of heights by participating in San Jose’s 2nd Annual Downtown Drop Down. Debbi’s challenge was to rappel off the top of Adobe Headquarters in Downtown San Jose, a 16 story building, and make it safe and sound to the ground, which we are happy to report she did. Not only was this a commitment to overcoming her fear of heights but also to showing her compassion towards helping end homelessness. Debbi’s rappel raised over $2,500 for Downtown Streets Team; an organization working to end homelessness by restoring the dignity and rebuilding the lives of unhoused men and women in our community. They combine compassionate and innovative leadership with collaboration between the private sector, government agencies, social service agencies, and most importantly, our community. To date the organization has secured over 1,600 homes for those who were previously homeless.
About Downtown Streets Team: Founded in 2005, Downtown Streets Team is now beautifying seven Bay Area communities: Hayward, Novato, Palo Alto, San Francisco, San Jose, San Rafael and Sunnyvale, with more on the way. We now serve over 750 unhoused men and women a year with almost 50 staff members and growing. Our goal is to end homelessness in our lifetime: one community at a time.
