Terry Huffington Barn Completes Stanford Farm

The recently completed Terry Huffington Barn was a much anticipated addition to the O’Donohue Family Stanford Educational Farm. Hillhouse began work on the original farm project with Stanford back in 2014 and we are pleased to see their vision come full circle. Former Dean, Professor Pamela Matson said “The farm is now set up as the learning center we have long been hoping for.”

The new structure includes offices and classroom space as well as a workshop and open area for projects and gatherings. The unique cedar slat exterior creates a semi-transparent skin for an indoor/outdoor feel and also allows for an abundant amount of day light and fresh air.

The farm offers academic and hands on sustainable agricultural learning for students and the community. Over 200 varieties of vegetables, fruits, flowers, herbs and field crops are grown on site. The harvests will benefit other areas of the campus as well including a new farm-to-campus dining program.
