One of our super Superintendents, Bill Johnston, is peddling his way down the West Coast this week as part of the California Coast Arthritis Bike Classic. The ride started in San Francisco this past Saturday and Bill will cross the finish line 7 long days later this coming Saturday, the 16th, in LA. The ride raises money, awareness and support the Arthritis Foundation (For more info, click here).
Below are some recaps and pics from the last few days so we can all share in Bill’s adventure and challenge. We will continue to post updates throughout the week so stay tuned and we welcome you to cheer him along on our social media channels: Facebook, Linkedin & Twitter.
Day 1 – 9/9
“Good day to ride, weather was perfect. 13 miles in I had what I thought was a major mechanical issue but the bike mechanics who travel with the ride were able to fix things without any major issues. I lost about an 1.5 hr but was able to complete the leg and get in before dark. Tomorrow Santa Cruz to Monterey” -Bill
Day 2 – 9/10
“Today was 55 miles to Monterey with about 2,500 ft of climbing. Tomorrow we head inland to King City, 85 miles with about 4,500 ft of climbing. So far weather has been perfect but tomorrow is supposed to get hot!” -Bill
Day 3 – 9/11
“Monterey to King City. Very hot today and lots of climbing, not a good combination but all and all a great ride. Tomorrow: King City to Paso” -Bill
